My Favorite Cookie

I have no picture.

That’s how quickly these cookies were eaten.

I have always LOVED snickerdoodles. The crunchy rim. The soft center. The sweet and spicy flavor. The buttery texture. It’s all perfection in my eyes.

There are SO many recipes for snickerdoodles. I still haven’t found one that is just right every single time.

On Sunday we were all wanting something sweet and since I was the one to be baking, I chose snickerdoodles. I quickly realized we didn’t have all of the “regular” ingredients. So I found this simplified recipe. Even though it’s missing the classic cream of tartar and other parts, they are TASTY.

SNICKERDOODLES

Ingredients

2 3/4 Cups Flour

1/2 tsp Salt

2 tsp Baking Powder

1 Cup Butter

1 1/2 Cups Sugar

2 Eggs

1 tsp Vanilla

1/3 Cup Sugar {for coating}

2 tsp Cinnamon, ground

Instructions

Cream together sugar and butter. Add each egg one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add in the vanilla and mix well once more.

Mix together dry ingredients {flour, salt, & baking powder}.

Add mixtures together. Mix well.

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for coating.

Form dough into about 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on the cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes at 400 degrees fahrenheit.

Try and let them cool before eating. Enjoy!
