Welcome to Young Womens!

Yesterday we had a sweet and fun girl join Young Womens! She turned twelve last week and was SUPER EXCITED to be the newest Beehive!

I was asked to put together a little welcome bag together for her {since she’ll be our only new Young Woman this year – unless somebody moves into our ward}.

Most of the contents are things we’d give her anyway, but I think giving it in “gift form” makes these items seem more precious and special {which they are!}.

Here is what was in the bag:

  • Personal Progress Book
  • Personal Progress Journal
  • True to the Faith Book
  • For the Strength of Youth Book & Mini Pamphlet
  • YW Logo Necklace
  • YW Logo Bookmark {to hold future Personal Progress Ribbons}
  • YW Theme Card {with class symbols & info. on the back}
  • YW Values Bookmark
  • Picture of the St. George Temple
  • Picture of Jesus Christ
  • Pink Pencil
  • Fave Reds Starburst Minis

Everything in the bag that can be pink IS pink. Why pink you ask? ย Sister Elaine S. Dalton explains, “The new Personal Progress book is pink! It is a reminder that you are a daughter of our Heavenly Father and have unique feminine characteristics, gifts, and roles.”

I wrote a short welcome poem to go with the gift.

You are MORE than welcome to use this poem for your new Beehives {but please link back to me here!}

It is always so exciting when there is a new Beehive in the group. I feel like it gives all the girls {and leaders} a reminder of what YW is really about and encourages us to do all that we should be doingย to improve ourselves.
