TWO YEARS

LONG POST AHEAD!!

My baby turned 2!  She has grown up so much all of a sudden.  It is exciting and scary.  I love how well we can communicate, but I am now learning how to negotiate with the will of a toddler.  I love how independent she’s becoming, but I am learning to give up control.

We had so much fun celebrating sweet {E} for two different weekends.  The weekend of her actual birthday we celebrated with just our own little family which was perfect {PART 1}.  And then a couple of weeks later we traveled up to celebrate with grandparents//cousins//aunts//uncles {PART 2}.

PART 1

We drove to St. George and took {E} to Chick-fil-a for her favorite food – CHICKEN.  And then headed to the St. George Children’s Museum.  This is my favorite place to take {E} when we travel down there.  It has so many different activities and so many ways to play.  My favorite rooms are definitely the Market and the Desert.  Although they recently opened a Dinosaur room which is pretty cool!

Later we went to dinner at Olive Garden for {E}’s second favorite food – NOODLES.

The next day was her actual birthday and a Sunday.  We went to church, came home and napped, and then relaxed together all night.

We did a present treasure hunt so we could enjoy watching her appreciate each gift.

The hunt ended in her room where we revealed the Ikea Play Kitchen we redid for her.  She barely reacted, just started playing!  It was sweet.

That night we laid her down in her new toddler bed for the first time and shed a few tears that our baby isn’t really a baby anymore.

PART 2

We had back to back parties with both sides of our family.  It was kind of exhausting, but {E}’s joy was invigorating.

We had a pancake party with the Hardman side.  We ate pancakes and the kids jumped on a bouncy house that {E}’s grandparents gifted to her! What a fun gift!

The next day we had a pink party with the Kimber side.  We ate lots of pink food and played with lots of fun new toys!

{E} was seriously spoiled!  She loves all of her new toys//clothes//books and every day she gets excited over her fun stuff.

We were so happy to have such a fun few weeks of celebrating our beautiful, smart, funny, and loving girl.  Happy Birthday {E}!
